“There is a kind of presence, a kind of raw honesty and experienced wisdom, that can only come from someone who has reached way down into the dark, has been made vulnerable and humbled, has sought knowledge and the strength of the Self from many corners of the heart, the mind, and the world…a kind of presence that is trusting, powerful, absolutely real, and ever so gentle. This is Kate. “ ~Hannah, Yoga Student

Kate is a dedicated yogini, and she is deeply committed to inspiring and supporting positive change.  With a teaching style that blends strength with grace, Kate offers a practical, yet inspiring, fusion of Western Movement and Eastern Principals. Kate’s athletic background, combined with her realistic approach to the practice, offers a masterful harmony of power and discipline paralleled with vulnerability and Self discovery. The unique balance of strength and grace in her own being empowers students from all backgrounds and inspires the discovery of peaceful warriors, and maybe teachers,  in us all.

Her passion lies not only in sharing Yoga through classes and teacher trainings, but in strengthening the communities in which she lives. In addition to traditional community service through organizations such as Team in Training, Ronald McDonald House, and The Make A Wish Foundation, she has lead multiple Teacher Training Programs on the island of Oahu, as well as produced and organized yoga festivals on both the East Coast and in Hawaii. She was recently recruited by Wanderlust to serve as a Mentor and lead Wanderlust branded teacher training programs on Oahu. She also serves as an Alumni Ambassador for Lululemon.

In 2013, Kate took part in an adventure that led her to the Oceans of Southern India as part of the soon to be released yoga and surf film project, Beyond The Surface. With editing and project management as some new tools in her tool belt, it would be safe to say there will be more projects of the same vein in the future.

Most recently Kate has been working on  Drishti Fest, a yoga festival in Virginia Beach. She is also about to launch a brand new online yoga studio and networking community called Yoga Revolutionaries. It is pretty ground breaking, so stay tuned.

Kate is a Certified Health Coach, by way of the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, and she also holds a Professional Plant-based Cooking Certification, a.k.a vegan, by way of Rouxbe. Kate currently explores writing, cooking, teaching, creating, helping, and healing in Hawaii and Virginia.
