Director of Training
Originally from Virginia Beach, Yoga found Kate in 2001. Her early relationship with yoga remained on the physical plane until a medical scare in 2006 sent her to a dedicated and disciplined practice. Yoga became life. Actions and intentions began to align and she found herself in Todos Santos Mexico for her first 200 hour training with Yandara Yoga School. Immediately after the first training, Kate landed in Ft Lauderdale for her second 200 hour training with The Barkan Method. Blessed with time and energy, Kate continued with her focus on studies and followed up with Jimmy Barkan’s Level 2 Vinyasa Training and Saul David Raye’s Thai Yoga Therapy Training. The following year was dedicated to traveling, learning, and absorbing as much as she could about this new way of life. Her travels took her across the country and eventually she landed in India to explore the essence and heart of yoga. It was in india where her path became clear. After returning to the states she relocated to Hawaii where she currently resides and operates True Union. Her training and studies include Basic Hatha, Hot Yoga, Hot Vinyasa, Advanced Vinyasa, Yin Yoga, Iyengar alignment, Bhakti/Devotional Yoga, and Yoga Philosophy. Kate is certified in Thai Yoga Therapy and is also an ordained minister. She is blessed to have practiced with and absorbed guidance from Jimmy Barkan, Saul David Raye, Rolf Gates, Paul Grilley, Annie Carpenter, Steve Ross, Shiva rea, Mark Whitwell, Krishna Das, Johnny Kest and Desiree Rumbaugh.

Lilly is a funky, fun-lovin’ yogini who loves to pass on her passion to all who attend her classes. After completing her BA in Dance and BS in Neuroscience at UCLA, she went on to train and teach yoga in several Los Angeles studios, including Maha Yoga with Steve Ross. She has been evolving her yoga practice in Hawaii since 2003, incorporat- ing Yoga Philosophy, Anatomy and Physiology, Sacred Path Energy Work, and the North Shore Coop creativity. Her motive is to connect the ever-dichotomized mind and body, sewing together their mutual reliance on the radiant, divine source that serves as the unshakable foundation for it all.
Special Guest Teacher Trainer
Steve Ross has practiced various styles of yoga for almost thirty years and has been an instructor for over twenty years. He has extensively explored the physical aspects of yoga as well as the philosophical and spiritual roots of yoga. He spent four years as a monk in the Vedic tradition, and since that time, he has ceaselessly sought out and reveled in the presence of some of the most notable masters of our time – in India and else- where. He is honored to have the opportunity to share his knowledge and experience with other spiritual seekers. Steve combines upbeat, inspirational music with a relaxed, easy spiritual- ity that make his classes at Maha Yoga some of the most popular in Los Angeles. Steve has written the book, Happy Yoga, published by Harper Collins. Steve also records and tours with Krishna Das and has recorded two of his own kirtan albums called “Grace is the Name of the Game” and “Give Love a Chants”. He has been chanting for over 20 years, and his chants are well known to produce a state of intoxicating euphoria.
